"I know the pain of having a father who thinks drinking a six pack of beer is more important than spending time with me," Lori shares in her seminars. “I also know what it’s like to have a mother-in-law who deeply loves my husband but has trouble sharing that love with me.
But my deepest pain came when my only daughter walked out of my life. I have asked myself over and over, am I such a bad person? What am I doing wrong? What do I need to change?"
After watching several of her friends' children walk away from their family values and beliefs--several ending up in jail--she realized she wanted to get to the bottom of what was happening to families in America.
For over two years she interviewed hundreds of people across America of every race and class who have walked away from their parents physically, spiritually or emotionally. From this she identified the top five "crimes" we are committing in our families. When people found out what she was doing, they asked what she uncovered, thus the Family Bureau of Investigation Workshops were born.
Lori also speaks at women's retreats and conferences, church services, banquets and lunches and recently launched the "Confession's of a Blab-aholic" Speaking Series.
